I was wondering if the fishing rods of choice for this time of year are heavy or just what you've been using all year?
Is Picton harbour launch choked full of users most of the time or will it support many brave souls?

Hey Findr,

I'm new to Fall fishing, but have switched from a regular 6'6" spinning outfit to an 8'6" trolling outfit as most of the fish being caught (not by me yet) are quite large. Also, since you have to work deeper water in order to catch some of these fish .... anywhere from 25 - 90 ft, I prefer having more line on the reel to be able to get the baits down deeper while trolling.

In the fall of the year you need heavier equipment. Rods with medium to heavy action with a stiff tip section. The baits typically used in the fall are much larger with significant action. You will need the stiffer rods to have better control over these baits and landing the fish....Larry
