Was able to squeeze in a day fishing with Hay Bay Larry, so we launched at Shermans and headed over to Grandfather Cove to have a look around. Marked very few fish in that area.
Trolled around Shermans once and didn't see anything there either.
Headed east to Ram Is area to look around the flats just to the west and over to the Pig farm. I got the first of the year(15") on a spinner and worm and bottom bouncer. Hay Bay Larry picked a 12 incher with a spinner and a worm in the same area.
We spend the last hour or so casting the back channel between North shore and Ram Is. Larry picked a nice pike on a silver wobbler spoon. Had a super follow and a swipe from a HUGE LM Bass. It sure looked good.
We fished from 0730 to 1300. Water still close to 53 degs F and the water is HIGH.
Talking to people who had been fishing there appeared to be a lot of smaller fish mixed with the odd fish in the 17-18 inch range.
On a happier note, the winner of the Napanee Fishing Festival Weekend happened to land the winning fish in Hay Bay close to Bayview Resort. They had rented a boat and motor and then they Won one.
