We have been out on the Bay for the last 4 days...Some days the walleye were on fire, and some of the days the walleye were really tough. The tough days are usually attributed to warmer weather or heavy boat traffic. We have been staying away from the boat traffic lately; this has lead to much better/bigger walleye action for our clients. The other key item we have noticed is that the big walleye may be on one spot one day and then in a totally different spot the next day. So in order to be successful out there you'll need to do a lot of searching for the big fish, and stay away from the boat traffic.
The jig bite has been great for most anglers, with tons of 1lb to 2.5lb walleye being taken all day long. Our clients on Sunday opted to troll longer, which paid off significantly...we hit 6 Walleye over 9lbs and the biggest being 11lbs.
Remember, when we take guys out, it's not to just catch fish, we spend a considerable amount of time teaching them the fundamentals and everything you need to get the job done on your own.
Give us a call; we'll be on the water until the Bay freezes over. More pics @
