Just finished looking over previous reports, sorry I missed all the fun. I would like to thank Mike,Targa 2,Superdad for excellent advise on this board and Capt. Hank, my brother and I would of found the fish anyway. With the new regulations in place Hank, hopefully there's enough fish for everyone to enjoy. Here it is,19 for 25,10 over 8#'s up to 11.9#'s, fished east of the ferry in 60 to 100ft. Kept 3 fish, all during the day, best trip of my 30 years fishing for walleyes, live in the states where I go months between catchs, stayed at Merlands as I did in 96 when we were the only people there, what a difference in 7 years. Thanks to Jennifer at Merlands for an enjoyable stay.As for how we managed to catch these fish you can research this fine board as I did inch by inch and you'll find all you need and more. Hey Ken, glad to hear of your sucess and by the way 3 flatline,16 brds. See you all next year!

That's what you call world class fishing. Well done!! This is one of the best, most informative boards around. We can even agree to disagree without taking it too personally. Thanks for having enough respect for the fishery to release most of those fish. If we're lucky, they'll all be back next year, but larger. Cheers,

Just got off the phone with Kevin at Merlands, booked 2 weeks next year, had to keep fish that were badly bleeding, ate one for supper and took 2 home. World class says it all and one thing I'd like to point out is we stopped for each fish pulling remaining lines so we could revive fish at the side of the boat making sure they could swim off on their own. I did this with salmon back in the 80's on Lake Ontario. Its all about respect for the fishery.Im also looking for that 15#er but he gets replicated and back he goes!

That's awesome Roughrider! Glad you had a great trip. Hopefully I can have similar success this weekend as it's probably my last softwater outing. As they say, go out in style! Not that I ever doubted Targa2, but as he says the difference in using planer boards is if you want to catch a few fish or catch a lot of quality fish and I think you just proved his point! I'll have to practice with them next year. Til next time.

Ken

Thanks for the tip Roughrider. I've got this clip on line counter which is kind of crappy, but it'll have to do until next year when I think I'll pick up a good line counter reel. Hmm, Christmas is just around the corner. I'll have to start leaving the LeBaron's catalog open at that page for a few weeks!

That is the technique of champions Ken, lol. I gotta start doing that, however, the last time my wife picked up a lure for me, she always looks for the prettiest one, funny thing is, I caught my biggest walleye on it.
