Hey Tyler,

I bought a X67C last year and have not been disappointed with it. It is a great unit and I would recommend it to anyone. Haven't tried any of the others (Vexlar, Marcum) but I can honestly say that after I bought this unit I was not skunked. The only complaint I have is the plastic transducer cable holder that comes with the machine. I broke mine the first trip out but now all I do is hang the cable and transducer right donw the hole.

Hope this helps.

Chris

I've had my X67C ice machine for a few years now and it works great. I agree that the arm for the transducer cable isn't that good and I don't bother using it. It doesn't use much battery power; I only need to charge once each winter and I get out about maybe 10 times each year. My only problem with the unit is that when a more powerful unit is used close by you will get interference. All in all a great machine.

I also have had one for a few years. I love it. I have a styrofoam float on the transducer not the plastic arm. This is the only unit I have ever owned so I have nothing to compare it to. I have never used the flasher mode. I also bought the suction cup transducer and use in my boat and kayaks on softwater. Well worth the money for me since I use it year round. I saw Babe Winkleman using it during a show where he was jigging crappies and bluegills. He showed the sensitivity of the unit by showing it pick up those tiny jigs and showed the fish moving up and down the water column and I was sold.

I just bought one this year and am looking forward to getting it on the ice. I had done some homework and went with this one because of the versatility of it. You can add the suction cup trans and use it in the summer. I bought mine outta the states but the tax and duty did a number on the final price. Pretty good price from Radio World

I'd say go for it

I ordered one today from Radioworld , 329 , good price , but they are on back order and not sure if they will be in before xmas. Thanks for all the help, made the decision easier for sure.

In that price point, I would take a good look at the Humminbird Ice-35. It has interference rejection and zoom. Not only that, you could buy it locally and have it tomorrow! I haven't spent a whole lot of time in front of that unit, but I have watched it in action and it seemed decent. I just know that if you have any friends out with you with a flasher, you will wish that you had interference rejection.

Good luck with which ever unit you go for.

Jeff

I have had mine for 4 or 5 years now and love it.
I don't bother with the swing arm either, much
easier to jump hole to hole without it. Haven't used
the flasher mode much though. I personally find
it much easier to interpret the fish finder mode.
