Snarf was a little freaked to find that Telegraph Narrows was frozen over as far as the eye could see. A few reassuring words and a paper Tim Horton's bag, some deep breaths and he was all better.

On the water shortly before 8am, first fish was within the first 10 minutes, no exaggerating.

As you've read from the Snarf, a rather productive day for da Mux. Two bush pigs (14 + 13lbs) and a piglet (7.5lbs). Snarf Jr. pulls off a 14lb bush boar, his PB (no ***). You've never seen a kid get so much advice in so short a period of time. "KEEP THE PRESSURE ON!! KEEP THE TIP UP!! DON'T HORSE IT!! TAKE YOUR TIME!!"

All in all, a stupendous day of pig hunting on the BOQ.

McFarlanes launch is no good, big slab of ice in there, so the ramp is unusable. We launched in Picton Harbour. All fish were caught between Merlands and McFarlane's. Purple seemed to be the colour of choice for the discrimintating stizostedium vitreum diner.

Home by 4pm, lower end oil changed, fuel stabilizer in the boat tank and then the Snarf and me (well, mostly me) demolished a box of 24 in celebration of Mux's Most Excellent Adventure.

As for passing off my rod to some unfortunate lout in the boat.......... FUGGEDABOUDIT! If you suck, you suck. You gotta feel the burn of defeat to revel in the victory when it comes. Actually, I'd told my nephew that the next rod to go off was going to be his. But then he caught a 14lb. fish, so screw him too.

Hey Mac! Que pasa, hombre?

Enjoy da Punta. I'll be down in.......19 days (and counting). 8)

On Saturday it was about -1C on the BoQ, a little windy and so a little chilly. Near froze my fingers off holding up the pigs.
