Anyone still fishing softwater?

Are there any launches open anywhere? Any info would be much appreciated. I'd hate to drive 4 hours only to find out the launch was frozen solid.

Anyone launch at the Ferry or Bath today?

how much of the bay is frozen? is the ferry launch still okay to go???

Guys im gonna take a guess and say that most of the bay from the ferry to Belleville will not be accessible by boat. If your thinking of fishing Lake Ontario you may find somewhere to get out.... but my recommendations are get your ice gear out and enjoy the winter season as its hear to stay..... I haven't been down to the ferry, but there was a guy in a clam fishing just out from the boat launch at Shermans Pt. on Hay Bay today.
Looks like the hardwater season may be upon us fellas.

I have never ice fished Quinte. I do most of my hardwater on Simcoe and North of Huntsville. I plan to make at least three trips this year. The area I want to target is the north side of Big Island in and around Baycrest Marina. Anyone know this area?

Probably the best advice you can get for your first hardwater visit would be to book with a guide service. They will show you the fundamentals along with a few Quinte secrets that take years of experience to learn. Most of all they will keep you a float!!!!! Until you learn the ice on Quinte it can be a very dangerous body of water for first time visitors as well as long seasoned veterans. Have a look at the sponsor board there are several reputable guides who can give you a trip of a life time. Good luck and I hope this helps. Jason

No question walleye wizard. Ice fishing may be the most difficult code to crack. I'll be looking for a guide for sure.

If any guides read this, PM me. I'm looking for a guide for Jan. 16th and 30th. I'm looking to learn a specfic area ... North shore of Big Island.

That's great that you agree on getting a guide at least for your first visit. It will be money well spent which will save you a lot of trial and error right off the bat and get you some hot walleye action as well as some great dinners to boot. I plan to take the season off this year... I realize my ad is still on the board but it should be expiring soon. I would have to say either G2 or Quinte Fishing Team would be your best bet. I know both guides (G2) a bit better then (QFT) but both are phenomenal fishermen. I wish you the best and will watch for your amazing post with lots of pictures. Jason
