Hey Guys,

We are currently out on the ice right now and catching good Walleye...the ice is ok at best. We are on 4' to 5' of clear black ice in the East end of the Bay (From Deseronto out to Sherman's Pt). Stay away from the Sherman's Pt area, as this area has been slower to freeze for some reason. Also the heavy current areas are still thinner than we would like. The milder day or two that is coming during Christmas will slow things down, with rain making it a bit worse...I don't believe it will eliminate ice, just slow down the process. Overnight lows wll still help keep things moving forward.

We are very close, however not quite ready to take clients out yet, just want to make sure we are safe and we dont need to use our Insurance policy
We will continue to post ice conditons and share details on our site moving forward www.G2Angling.com, any info we have, we will share  ....as we want to make sure everyone is staying safe out there.

If you are interested in getting out in the next week or so, give us a call or email me at Gary@G2Anging.com or visit our website.

Cheers, Hodgey...

Having fished the bay for many years and speaking with other who also live
on the bay have always said there are two distinct currents in the bay.
The strongest one runs down Hayward Long Reach south into the bay
and the other not as strong but still enough for the ice to be very
changeable is Hay Bay to Shermans Point and out past the cement plant.
Fishing Huffs is very dicey at this time of year and even into the winter
because of the current.
