Was out to fish on Sat afternoon after checking into Merland Park, great reception and glad to see us.

Headed for Cement Plant and trolled over to Thompsons PT, marked lots of fish. Trolled over to Kens' Mountain and I hit a 22" - 4.4 lbs on a deep diver Smithwick (Blue/Chrome&Orange).

Trolled past the west side cliffs and rusty dock in Picton Bay, ending up on the east side trolling the weedline at Merland Park.

Just the one fish on Sat.

Sunday AM headed back to Thompsons and Marked what appeared to be MORE fish in the 39 - 47' depths. Tried the in-line planer board and hit another 22" at 4.8 lbs. Hit another one, appeared to be a heavier weight but the fish got away about 35' from the boat.

Fished Sunday afternoon, decided not to face the easterly wind and stayed close to the east shore all the way past Merlands. Marked schools of baitfish close to shore from McFarlenes til we pasted the house with the raised dock and big boat on the railway. Trolled into Picton Harbour to see if there any fish in there. Marked a few, didn't see the schools of baitfish as in past years. Back to the dock at 1830, missed the first quarter of the Grey Cup.

Didn't go out Mon AM as it was raining and it just at zero degs, packed up and headed off. The morning turned out real nice at the Ferry, Napanee looked shiny as there was freezing rain but it thawed and the afternoon was real pleasant.

It was nice to meet some of the guests at Merland who recognized me from the tiny picture with my posts. Thanks for saying hi.

Forecast for the rest of the week is very warm temps. Let's hope it continues for Sat & Sun.

C U at Merland Park around 0800 on Saturday.
