Careful straight out from Mass there was only 3-4 " in the narrows, the current rips through there. Pointe Anne West has had some shady ice, some guy report 3" there last week but it was 3" of good ice LOL! Ive been heading west along the shoreline at Mass and then heading out further once Im out of the narrows, was at the green buoy and it still had spots with 3-4" but we kept heading west in search of at least 5-6" just have to get away from those narrows and youll find good ice. I wouldnt risk an atv in either of those areas yet. Gl and be safe!

I fished 50 yards west of the marker tonight on 5 inches..... this snow stinks its gonna blanket the ice and stop it from building comming back I saw an old timer walking streight across from the conservation area........ when he got to shore I asked how he did said he cought one. i told him he is the first person ive seen brave enough to walk streight across from here. he said in the middle its a little slushy. WOW!!!! I got there today around 1:30 cought two and lost two. and my fishing was done by 3:30ish. they shut right down and moved off only marked one other fish from 3;30 til 5 when i picked up and left one fish was 7 pounds and the other was a tick over 9 pounds . the two I lost both felt like nice fish as well think ill try Big Bay tomarrow

Wow Grizzly, I'll try the spots that yourself and the old timer caught your fish. Did you find the channel slushy? How thick was the ice there?

I hope my success is as good as yours.

Will post some pics on Sunday.

Good Choice Mike. I fished Big Bay this morning. lost one at 9. got a nice eating 4 pounder at 10. lots of perch to play with I didnt mark too many im sure the fish are around just right place right time seems to be the key. ok im off to fish westlake......... ill pm you later
***************************************************** And I didnt go in the channel.. I stayed along shore headed west til i was 100 yards past the bouy then hooked north to fish 5 inches of Ice where i sat. the further west you go the better the ice gets but the more fishermen you run into... ......... god I need a break... Beam me to the fish scotty!!

Carefull out there, don't go by the posts above as they are dated Jan 2010. Overkill, start a new post if you want to know , people usually don't look at the date posted and will assume this is the reports from the current areas. Be safe
Tim

Damn good thing you brought up the date Tylercurt. I just got a call from 2 guys that read this and thought it was a current report. I came on to see it for myself and noticed the date right off the bat. That is the problem with posting on an old report like this it will bring it to the top and then guys think it is currant. CHECK THE DATE PEOPLE cause these 2 dummies were on there way out.....

I looked at the date immediately because I knew sure as hell that there wasn't 3 to 4 inches off Mass.
