Fished Picton Bay last night with a friend (cymbals). Launched just before dark and trolled along the north shore. Cymbals landed 2 fish and i was 0/2 The first fish came on the DHJ12 clown. Our scales broke and we couldn't weigh the fish until we bumped into Pingi on the water who had some scales. At that time we had only caught 1 and it weighed 10.4 Later on we caught the 2nd fish and didn't weigh it but it was about 6 to 7 lbs.

I wouldn't eat any of the fish over the slot unless you want your balls to turn green and slowly rot to nothing. These big fish have been around along time and have collected alot of toxins over the years. If you want to eat them I suggest keeping the smaller ones under the slot. A good area to catch the smaller ones is jigging the deep water around thompsons point.

I am afraid to say that we got skunked last evening. Tried just about everything you could in the Bay. On a positive note: Last Thursday we landed 5 in the weeds. All were around 8 pounds.
It was nice finally meeting you Dan. I forgot to ask you, as we were loading up the boats, if you landed another one. It must have been on that last pass? I thought I saw your boat turn sideways.
I'll be back!! If the weather holds!

Hey Gerry, How's it going? What time of day did you nail the 5? Just talked to Frank tonight for the first time in awhile. Says he hasn't heard from you. I'm hoping to head down within a week or so, weather permitting for a couple days. Fish On'.
