Obtained 7 stretch 20, 15 and 10's direct from Manns last week. They all appear, when looking down the length of the bait from the lip, to have the lip inserted crooked, high on the right side to low on the left. This gave the 20 we used an erratic action to the left in the water. Is this a normal action or did I get a bad batch? Anyone know how to tune the stretch baits; the lips look pretty substantial to be trying to bend them....

Thx for any info....Barry

I just got a batch of Stretch 20's a couple weeks ago direct from Mann's as well. The ones I've tested out so far seem to be tracking perfectly. They're known for not requiring tuning out of the box. If you can tell the lips are noticeably crooked, I'd say send them back. One of the few ways one can fine tune a bait like that is bending the eye to one side or the other, depending which direction it's turning sideways. In this case, the lips are probably too large for that to make any difference. Call Agnes down in Customer Service first and let her know the problem, but I wouldn't settle for anything but replacements. Just my opinion. Shoot, those lures are still 10 bucks a pop, they gotta work right.

Thx Weedman. I have sent an e-mail to Mann's Customer Service advising them of the problem and am awaiting a reply. I agree if the lures are not right, they should be replaced....Barry

I ordered up 8 stretch's as well. They all seemed fine, tracking well but
I never caught an eye on one. Rapala ruled the weekend. I thought we
were getting a pretty fair deal on the lures untill the UPS man showed up looking for $42 bucks for a delivery charge, on top of the $8 delivery charge from Manns it made for some rather pricey lures. Live and learn I suppose....

i also haven't had much luck with the mann lures lately, maybe they were better in the past for some reason, i tried some last weekend after buying some but did much better on rapalas. i had the best luck fishing down 15 to 20 feet near the cement plant trolling towards hay bay. there seems to be a lot more boats this year, i even tried a new spot on sun and there were lots of boats there i did about the same as i did the prev weekend so it didn't increase my catch. thats it for this fall, we had snow here today.

Just got this reply from Mann's:

"greetings Barry...lips are not inserted into the baits..have a right half and a left half, that are joined together...if baiats need tuning, you bend the lip line tie(wire form) the oppossite direction the lure runs..if runs left, bend right, if runs fight, bend wireform left...
are you trolling ar casting these baits?
we use mustad cone point hooks and eagle claw lazer sharp hooks...you may wish to use only 2 hooks on the S-20+ , remove the middle hook and use 2 heavier hooks instead of 3
good fishing
rab"

For your info guys....Barry

I recently purchaced a Reef Runner because the color caught me ;) and I have read a lot about these baits recently.

But I have never been able to get this darn thing to run right.
I mean I will get it running right but it always seems loose the tuning and pull to the right again.

What is the speed range are these baits supposed to be trolled at.
