Has anyone been fishing off Herchimer or Point Anne?
Looking to get out this afternoon, and I am most interested in an update on the ice conditions.
I know last year we were able to cross from Point Anne to Big Island, but I want to be certain the ice is safe enough for a 4-wheeler.
Thanks in advance.

there's a huge pressure crack that you would have to cross, but you can fish this side of it. I was out Friday past and we were on 15 inches of ice, just this side of the crack, launching from pt. Ann. some people are even bringing vehicles out. I heard the crack opened up over the weekend but likely froze over again. I would play it safe and stay on this side. check with hawg hunter, he knows the area well.

Thanks for the quick responses!
I will definitely play it safe and not cross the crack.

My hut is in the other side of the crack. I have been crossing it with my 4 wheeler but today, i had to find a new way back! The ice shifted again this morning after I got to my hut. I am towards mass. pt. Can see the red bouy from my hut. Pretty scary crossing the crack. Thinking i may take my ramps out this afternooon just to cross it and get my hut back on the belleville side of it.
If anybody lives on Sandy Cove Rd, I would really like permission to access the bay from your side just to get my hut back to shore??? That's all I want, then going to move it elsewhere to a safer spot without having to cross the crack. Was down your road this afternoon and it looks like I can get to it from your side a little safer. Really appreciate the permission, will pay, thanks in advance! Send me a PM and I will call you!

Yes there is lots of ice out there! Just don't be stupid like me and cross the crack and not be able to get back!!! lol 1/2hr later I smashed down some chunks and made a path. Probably won't be there when I head back out though! lol

The ice on the west end of pointe anne is not as good as the east. I heard someone say there was only about 4 inches?? I do know that people are walking out from there. I can see it from my hut. I have not seen any atv's.
