In the late 80,s it was an awesome lake huge bass & pike but like anything else the word spread and you could hardly get in on any weekend for tourist and campers every island was full and the boat ramp was full !!!
I hear they are still catching some nice fish and it is an neat lake with a trolling motor (WATCH FOR ROCKS AND STUMPS) You should have fun !!!!!!!

Been there, cool lake but the line up at the boat ramp can get retarded, 1-2 hour wait sometimes, no dock at ramp, rocks and deadheads galore. trolling motor is a must.

Good little lake to fish. I always help do i clean up there every year with the Quinte Bassmasters. At the end of the day we had a little fisher derby catch and release someone always caught a nice pike or a largemouth

I fished it last yr one time for the first time Beautiful place ! I caught nothing but I'm sure it's because I didn't know the good spots lol . Is there anywhere else to launch other than the public boat launch ?

I was up there last Sept. and only caught a few bass and 1 pike among 3 of us. It was during the week and only saw one other boat. It is a nice lake and the launch is only good for small boats. I fished there about 10 years ago and caught a lot of bass and pike. I remember when we were leaving we saw a couple of locals with a stringer of bass including some 3 or 4 lbers. Thats what happens when people keep all there fish. :) :) :(

I've fished Deer Rock the past few years.
You catch a lot of fish, but hardly any big ones at all.
The lake is HEAVILY pressured during the summer months.

The fishery has taken a HUGE hit recently.

There's only 1 place to launch, and its horrible!

If not Deer Rock, you might want to try Weslemkoon Lake, awesome Bass fishing.

how is the bass fishing at weslemkoon these days?

it's a huge lake, so i know it would take the pressure a little better, but, it sure seemed to garner a lot of interest in the last few years.
