I've been checking this site with envy for a while and drolling all over my keyboard! This is about the friendliest and most informative site I've run across! I hope you guys don't mind me barging in. I'm from upstate NY and have only fished Quinte a few times, but hope to fish it much more in the future! I mainly fish (troll) the eastern basin of Lake Erie. We do get some nice eyes there, but I'm still looking to snap a picture of that 15 pounder! My brother-in-law is in the process of building a home on a point just below Cape Vincent, NY. Does anyone know how far (by water) it is from Cape Vincent to the Bay? I realize we need Ontario licenses, but we both get them every year anyway. Thanks.. Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Hmmmm
I think Cape Vincent is about 40 miles (60 km) by water, if my memory serves me correctly.

This is a solid fishing site, with great input from a lot of people.

Hey, welcome Sluggo. We enjoy having our friends from the US on this board. We all try to help one another here, and I echo your sentiments on this board. It's a great online community, with more quality information flowing than just about any fishing site out there. Tight lines. Hope you have an opportunity to come up and to enjoy the fishing again soon. Cheers,

Thanks for both the welcome and the info. I was hoping that it wan't that long of a run from Cape Vincent to Quinte. Even at 40 miles, it'll be quicker and easier by boat than trailering. I'm glad to see that your fishing seems to be on the upswing! We go through the same cycles on Erie! This year was one of the best I can remember out there. If any of you want to try some late summer trolling on the east end of Erie let me know. I'd be glad to offer any help I can on lodging and fishing info. July, August and September are the best for our area..so you won't need those Mustang survival suits hopefully! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)
