I'm heading to Adolphustown next weekend and was wondering if I could fish for some perch or other small panfish?
I'm asking because I just read this in the fishing Ontario guide:

Waterbody
Moira River and Bay of Quinte
- from the Lott Dam downstream,
including Belleville Harbour in the
Bay of Quinte.

Exception Details
Fish sanctuary - no fishing from
Apr. 1 - Fri. before 1st Sat. in May.

Will I be able to sit on the dock and fish or is Adolphustown considered to be in the Bay of Quinte??

no one really seems to know the answer to that question my friend lol... Ive asked it many time in the past because i pretty much read it the same way you do or have yet people fish all the time for perch and the what not.... but if your east of glanora ferry yer good to go thats considered part of Lake O. Not the BOQ

I have seen people fishing by the bridge from the county to Belleville all the time. The Fish sanctuary is the river including the mouth I think that is why it states the bay of quinte.

The fish sanctuary you have in your post is from the last dam on the Moira river down to and including the Belleville harbour. You will also see the Trent river listed from the first dam down as well as the Napanee. These are spawning areas. You will be good to fish anywere there is no river spawning areas listed in the regs. as long as you are fishing for perch, blugill, crappie etc. We answer this question every year Grizz but it always ends up a a "your targeting out of season fish" flame fest!!!Lets see what happens this year.
