i just want to have the ability to fish with more than 3 people in a small boat really... these should get me out enough to stay away from everyone elses lines. am i right in thinking that? ill be running mostly 6 lb test mono on a spinning rod with spoons or crank baits.

if you bought a pair of those , and u had 3 people in your boat, you should be able to run 3 lines easy total for the boat. have 1 guy use a board on one side, one on the other and 1 longlined out the middle

I agree with TheLandshark Matt. Just splurge and get the 2. That way you have it if you need it. I've used the small Church one as well and it works pretty good. I pulled spoons and cranks with it with no problem. Small lakes usually means calmer water though. Not sure how they would work in the chop.

I got my boards at bass pro.
I looked at buying the offshore boards
first but wasn't sure about the back
clip(like a snap swivel).

Here's a picture of one on big bay :)

Quinte outdoor sports had the mini ones last weekend. Not sure how much though. I bought the Off-shore larger left side for $50 with tax. Then I took it home, measured it up and made the right side out of cedar. I weighted it slightly further forward and it actually ran better than the Off-Shore one (not to mention less than 1/2 price) I was able to run 4 lines with the planer boards on Sunday in the big Lake with 2-3 foot waves no problem. You may want to consider the bigger size for future use with bigger lures or bigger waters.
As said, two is definitely the way to go.
