ok for the most part the lake conditions have been less than ideal. there is a lack of rain and that means streams and rivers arent flowing and that isnt making for a whole lot of color in the water. the other thing we hope for is some winds to pound the shoreline and dirty things up, but with the lake being so far down it doesnt reach to hit the areas of shore we need it to. we are still however catching fish but maybe having to work a lil harder. water temps are now in the high 40's so it should get a little better.

ok we have been using the planer mast and running both stickbaits and spoons off of them. some of the sticks that have been working are jointed rapalas in 7, 9, and 11's. many different patterns. smithwicks work well also. challengers and sebiles. we have been getting a good number of coho and atlantic salmon as well as some steelies. as far as spoons it is tough to beat michigan stingers for the spring brownies. chicken wing, alewife, rosemarys baby, black widow to name a few. we have been running riggers ad they have been producing. 4 feet down over like 8 feet of water but you can run them off the boards or even a longline down the chute. if you do not think your spoon is getting down enough add a splitshot 5 feet up. if anyone has any questions ask

Those are some nice fish you caught there. I am going to try to get out on Saturday. Are you running those spoons dressed or undressed. Once again good job on the browns. Are the salmon you are catching in 8 fow also.? Thanks

I meant by dressed is do you run your spoons with bait or not, like minnows. I always use minnows for lakers behind the spoons and was wondering if it worked for Browns as well. Thanks

No bait behind the spoons and I have never heard of that my guess is it would ruin the action of the spoon and it would lose its flutter. Never heard of it for lakers either. Lakers love peanuts and cowbells if youi aren't using spoons

I've actually got Mr. Walleye fishing browns, crappies, and even steam trout this spring. Who'd a thunk. We're even planning to do some fly fishing but first off Quinte walleyes this weekend.
