I am looking for info ont the boat ramps and a place to put in i am staying at perfect vue and they have informed me that putting a boat in there this year is impossible .to compound the problem my all wheel drive i s unavailable and i am forced into useing my 2 wheel drive pickup. My boat is a 166 pro with a 90 optimax total weight is about 1400lbs.the other launches i was thinking about useing are napanee deseronto or shermans point.I am unfamiliar with these ramps my question is will a 2 wheel drive do the trick at any of these ramps.

I have a 2 wheel drive dakota and launch a 17ft legend at Shermans. I havent been out there this year but you should be fine there and its just up the road from perfect vue. There is also a ramp at the other end of cty rd 9, not sure of the name of the road but its usually good there too..Its at the far east end of the bay.. Good luck on the weekend..

Shermans ramp is right by perfect vue. Just be careful not to drop the trailer axle off the end of the cement pad. Someone here made a good suggestion, when backing down to the ramp, to do it on a diagonal angle on the ramp.

Something I wanted to do but never got to was put a skid plate on the trailer so if its dropped over the edge it could be pulled out without doing any damage. Just something to protect the spring mount and raise the trailer so that the edge of the cement would hit below the center of the tire.

I launched at Shermans on Monday and had not trouble with the Crestliner and the pad, Getting it out might be another story, but that won't happen for a while.

Hey guys,
I am familiar with boat launches in Picton bay area, but this year planning to launch my boat closer to 401, in Trenton-Belleville-Desseronto area.
I trailer 26' fishing boat with shallow draft of 18", pulled by Ford 250 diesel, heavy boat.
Any advice on where to launch with no hassle? ready to pay any reasonable fees for launching in-out and overnight parking.
Private marina launch is OK, within short run to Whitney Bridge area.

Also any info on well stocked bait shop will be appreciated.
Thanx in advance to all responded.
Tight lines.
