Hey guys,

I am looking to stock up on jigs for this Bass season. I just started to get the hang of fishing them at the end of last season and want to do it more this year. Anyways, I need a bunch of jigs and was wondering what you guys use. There are many brands out there and they are all expensive, so I would hate to waste money on a bad jig. Also what are your favorite trailers?

I figure I will use 1/2 oz 3/4 oz and 1 oz jigs. Does that seem right to you? Just looking for input as I figure to be buying about 50 jigs for this season. Thats a lot of money when jigs at CT are about $5 a piece.

Thanks

If your fishing the Bay Of Qunite I wouldn't use anything less then 3/8 oz and go up to as high for punching 1-1/8 oz. The jigs I use are Ganns Perfromance Tackle Jigs, and Punisher jigs. The Punshier jigs aree made here in Canada and are amazing quailty but very expensive $6.99 a jig. Ganns jigs are $4.49 american www.gannstackle.com. Yes jigs are expensive but you want a qauilty jig thats going to work and not let you down.

My favorite trailers are Zoom super chucks, Zoom salty chucks and Bass Magnetlures chucks work well also there the sam style as the super chucks. I hope this helps

Ryan

Triple rattle back jigs are the best IMO, Wouldn`t touch a Punisher jig toooo expensive and not a fan of the rattles they have. It is all a matter of personal preferance though. 3/8 up to an ounce is sufficient. Zoom Super chunk trailers is what I like, there are many types and most will work. The strike king elite jigs are good as well, that would be my second choice.

Do you throw them all on the same rod. I went out an got a 7'6 Crucial Heavy Fast, do I need another rod for the different sized jigs, or will it throw them all?

The 7'6 heavy Crucial would do fine at throwing all of those sizes of jigs. If you plan on going lighter like 7/16 and down use a medium-heavy

Pastor_Dan,

search "The Perfect Jig" on facebook and contact Brendan Knaggs,
he is a local ontario guy in durham region. All his jigs are handmade
and custom made to order - you pick skirt and head colors...
If your not on facebook, let me know and Ill forward contact info
good luck this season, the jig is a great bait on the bay!
as for trailers, bass magnet chunks are fantastic.
