What type of line is best for trolling? I am using 8lb mono and getting a lot of line stretch. Is it better to use braid or fluorocarbon or a combination of both. Kind of confused any help will be appreciated.
Thanks John

I use 10lb XT and really like it.
I think a little stretch helps keep fish on but thats just my 2 cents.

I prefer braid myself, but it is largely preference. You will get lots of different answers.

I like the small diameter, and no stretch aspects. I use about 20' of flourocarbon leadermaker material as a leader.

Just my 2 cents

Scott

love the braid for trolling. 8 or 10 lb is about 2lb mono diameter so you can get your baits deeper with less line.

I prefer the stretch of mono. As far as worrying about line diameter don't. If they were that. Smart they wouldn't swim into nets. 8 or 10lb test for fish other that fall hawgs then I go to 12. I don't use floro leaders, like I said they aren't that smart. That's also more knots that could lead to break off. Ande pink or Cajun Red for me
