Having spent a ton of time on Quinte in May I thought it was time to try another favourite lake of mine, Stony Lake in the kawarthas. Mainly because of how picturesque it can be, it can be a tough lake to figure out sometimes and other times it can be good... Good as gold!!!
Launched the boat at 6:50 am, off to first spot I know of that has produced often in the spring, both Walleyes and Musky. Second cast for my nephew(jeepboy18) and bam, fish on. Second cast...couldn`t believe it, figured I was in for a good rubbing for the rest of the day.

Sometimes getting the first fish like that can be a godsend or you might wear out your welcome quick. Took me a while, than out of the blue I see what I first thought was a small Musky chasing my taildancer. No wait its a Walleye, this fish hit the bait at boatside, and the bait was no more than a foot in the water, both of us were stunned at what we just witnessed.

Soon after that I landed another nice eater. Then I landed one of the smallest Musky I have ever seen and it ate my 10" suick, with musky I generally let them go pretty quick as they are not real hearty, so they really have to be worthy of a picture. I missed to more walleye after that and one of them was at boatside again.
We worked this one point that I have seen numerous musky throughout the years, and some good ones too. Knowing full well on the any cast you could hook one I turned to jeepboy18 and said "thats it here comes one".
Talk about "Stony" Don`t I hook and land a musky in the 12-14lb range, couldn`t of called it any better. Getting the hook out of her she thrashed and took off, oh well camera shy I guess, but healthy cause I got a free shower.
Off the water by 1:30 as I had to be home for an appointment.
Guess who got the rubbin` ....... again
