While tryingto fish for bass (I say trying because man it was tough) on the weekend I found a bunch of walleye. They were on the edge of the deepest weedlines in the area and were hitting crankbaits. Good size too for this time of year. 2.5 to 4.5lbs. I was throwing a strike king red eye shad. started at petes point and worked to the east tip of cow Is. Have fun with them.

Thanks for the report Dan. Were heading down to Picton for a weeks vacation starting the 17th. Is Pete's Point anywhere close, or have you heard of how things are going down that way? Last year the water never reached 70 degrees the whole week we were there, but it has to be alot warmer this year. Any info would be appreciated.
Catch ya later

Pete's point is due south across the bay from the Herchimer boat launch. Look for Pete's Point road in google maps.

To the OP: thanks for the tip! I also had some luck July 9/10 around the next point east from Petes' Point to Q53 trolling the weed edges in 12" of water. I was slow trolling CC Shads and perch Minnow Raps and caught some big pickeral.
