Quinte Fishing

Hello,
I am on the south shore of Lake Ontario so I know little of the North shore and it's fishery. I am wondering if Quinte holds a fishable population of Musky? If not any recommendations on an area would be great. Thanks in Advance for any help.

There is a pic of a musky in the photo gallery on this site. The rock pile is no longer there, but I would imagine the musky fishing in that area would be pretty good, theres a channel running through there, and alot of humps near the shore there. I just don't think anybody fishes for musky on the bay, but there are musky to be caught there.

Moira Lake holds good number of muskies, as well the 1000 Islands area of the St. Lawrence River is a world class musky fishery.

Thanks for the reply's. I have had the experience of fishing the 1000 islands in the past. The area i fished up there was from the mouth of LO, Henderson Harbor and Alexanderia bay. lots of bass, perch and pike but no muskie.
I am making plans to hit some muskie waters this comin season so keep the post coming and thanks again.

There seems to me at least to be a slow increase in the #'s of musky being caught in the bay.
The problem is that the numbers are still to low to really target them successfully.
In the spring-early summer your best bets are areas in the river mouths Moiara - Trent . They seem to disperse after that. I have only witnessed a few muskys in the bay.
On spot that used to be great.... 40-50 years ago was the area around the bay bridge in Belleville, and I can remember a few fish from that area over the last few years.
Also a 33lber came off the rush bar a few years ago.
With the change in water clarity we should see a substantial increase in the next few years. Could be a real sleeper spot!
