Thanks to Andy for putting on a great tournament yesterday. I’m sure that there was a lot of work involved and we appreciated all of your effort. It was a fun day, with a fun approach. Thanks again and great job!

My partner and I fished in this tournament, we had an awesome morning of fishing. We had are 5 fish limit that included Smallmouth and Largemouth weighing about 18.7 lbs by 11:30am. 1:30pm hit and we noticed are fish were looking really stressed, so we decided to head back to the launch site where we thought we would be able to weigh them in. We get back to the dock and no one was there? and the people who were at the canteen had no idea about the tournament? Unfortunately we had to let are fish go or risk killing them.
Now in my passed experiences fishing any type of tournament or derby which ever it may be, there has always been somebody at the launch/weigh-in site. 2:30 rolls around and people start coming to the launch wondering the same thing I was, where is this guy?? Next thing you know people start taking their boats out of the water with the fish still in the live-well!?. I guess if I only had a little bag of fish I wouldn't care that much, but since that wasn't the case. I am and was really upset about the unfortunate turn out that my partner and I got stuck with. We should of won, instead we're left shaking are heads.......I guess this is why I dont do a lot of mickey mouse tournaments like this.... Tip for the future: Be more prepared and Have more help.

Other than that, had some great fishing!!!!

Mark

Well Mark,

I sorry your livewell quit, I have been in that same situation and bailed water by hand every ten minutes or so for 6 hours. I suggest next time you do the same. The tournament was designed to be low budget and laid back, which it was, having someone at the launch waiting for people to weigh-in early is not an option, I don't want to have to pay someone to wait there and take away from the prize money. Keeping the fish alive is part of the tournament, I posted blast off at 7 and "weigh-in at 3pm" not 1:30 or 2pm. I sorry it didn't work out for you, I wish you could have weighed in. If you want to talk about it personally please call me 613-962-3047, instead of calling the tournament "mickey mouse", I put alot of time and money into that tournament. It's not my fault you had equipment problems.

Sorry,

Andy

I participated Sunday and my partner and I did the weigh-in and I felt we put the weights through fairly quickly. As tournaments go this event was well run especially for a first time effort. I have run and participated in tournaments for over 20 years and seldom can you weigh-in early. I personally object to your term mickey mouse. If you caught your smallies in deep water they probably would not have survived anyway. The guys in the Quinte fishing series don't seem to have a problem keeping their fish alive.
I would suggest that in future you stick to big money events and stay away from the smaller events with as you call it their small bags of fish.

Andy, I know you put a lot of time in, but maybe if you took a bit more time and found someone to stay on shore it would of been better. Since you put the tournament on I guess you could of been the one making sure everything went smoothly, instead of paying anyone? I mean what if you won? it wouldn't of looked to good on you since your the one who made everything happen. Not only should you have had someone there for weigh-in purposes, but especially for emergency purposes. I guess you should of answered your cell as well since I called that a number of times. And I already tried talking to you personally, you told me that everyone knew that you weren't gonna be there? I didn't know? and I definitely didn't know that no one at all was gonna be there? you also said maybe I should of found someone? well I guess if I ran it I would of had someone. Sorry for the mickey mouse remark. Its only a tip for next time Andy.

Sounds like there will be a spot open for next years tournament. Andy if you can hold a spot for me that would be great, i have a working livewell and some common sense. It sounds like the 29 other guys had a great time and were pleased with how it was run. It's too bad when someone puts in there own time, effort and money into doing something thats fun for everyone, you get that one bad apple.

Bass1: Tip for YOU for "next time". Pick up some English lessons.

A stop at the common sense booth seems as though it could also be beneficial.
