Following up on Hay Bay larry's report - the Adulphustown launch was fine yesterday. We arrived at the ramp around 10 am and there was about 30ft of shale ice to get out to the open water. By the time we packed up the boat and launched I would say we started fishing around 11am.

Didn't even have time to get the second rod out and we had the first fish on...typical Quinte-size eye. All said and done we ended up 13 for 14, (most in the 8-12lb range) and were off the water and back on the ferry for the 4:15 trip home. Actual fishing time was probably only 4 1/2 hours. Best part of the day was the fact that the survival suit was only on for about 1/2 hour, rest of the day fished with just a sweatshirt and fleece undershirt.

I would think with the rain yesterday, warmer temperatures, and the cement ships moving through that the area will open up even more over the next week, but freeze quickly with any quick dip in temperature. It was pretty open to up past the red bouy on the Picton side of the ferry.

Two other boats were on the water when we were crossing on the ferry, but both had left by the time we launched - only other boat on the water while we were fishing yesterday was Kevin from Merland park.

Think this was the last trip for the year, unless I can get a pass for next week-end...even then may head to the Niagara Bar seeing as it's 2 hours closer to home. Best of luck to those who venture out.

[Aw, man......here we go again. My computer has forgotten my password, and the password reclaim thingy on the website doesn't work. Frig. DAN! Please email me the password that will actually WORK for me! Thanks! peterzabrok@cogeco.ca I really *do* have a name, you know.....]

Right. Bee-YUTEY day, mate - congrats! What lures and patterns did you get 'em on?

Weather for the next three-four days hovers above and below freezing, with the freezing bits winning out. However the weekend is forecast to have milder temps. You guys should get out if the water's still open! Wish I could, but I'll be crawling round in the mud, where the temperature is a guaranteed 54F year-round.

Good luck, eh?

Cheers,

Pete

Like, it's "pitons", eh? PITONS! Sheesh.

[When it comes to mechanical aptitude and fixing stuff, like engines, I don't know which end of the hammer to hold. Unless of course it's a piton hammer, in which case I suddenly and miraculously get very good. Paradoxical, eh?]

I think it's time to order some o' them Mann's Stretch 20's. Any other colours good besides "Dr. Death" and Watermelon?

Here's what they have:

Here's a better look at the new colours:

There are some pretty bitchin'-lookin' colours, eh? Anyone know what the "Crystalglow" is? Anything like a G-Finish, do you suppose?

What colours besides the two mentioned above do you think would work? Thoughts?

Cheers,

Pete

Pete,

Once you're Pass the Pistons Pete, you can't all of a sudden go and change your name to Pass the Pitons Pete. We have had many good laughs in the boat over the pistons/pitons mix up a couple of years ago... now you're just plain old pistons pete / sorry for the confusion.

I have all of the stretch 20's in the pictures except for the rainbow trout crystaglow. I could probably give them all away and only keep 4 because I almost always cycle between:

Dr. Death
Grey Ghost
Watermellon
Blue Shad

Last time we were up oldprincecraft2 was smokin em on the Chartreuse shad down deep - so it might not hurt to have a bright colour as well. I also used to like Chrome Blue Back, but I can't figure out where I put it. Now that I think about it - they're all pretty good.

If you're in Hamilton - I know Grimsby Tackle used to carry them - if you come out the Mississauga way I was just at Fishing Depot last week (401 & Martingrove) and they had a healthy inventory. They were around 11 bucks which is about what it will cost you if you order from Mann's direct (brokerage charges etc)

Well folks I just had to post to clear up this minor dispute about Petey's name. Had the chance to fish for some steelhead with the wee leprechaun last week. Based on his in depth tales of his many female conquests (seems he uses them and tosses them aside), I have bestowed upon him the new title of "Pass the POONTANG Pete". Seems fitting as it seems young Petey gets more tang than Neil Armstrong on the moon! HA HA HA!

Pass the Poontang Pete? I guess I could live with that. Who's he passing it to? Haven't seen any come my way from this board...

Maybe from January to November we should be posting poontang reports...went 0 for 3 today, used a couple of lies, and a couple of drinks. Things were hot last week, but I had to work...maybe next weekend I'll get the big pig I've been waiting for.

I have seen some of "Poontang Pete's" women over the years....brrrr, makes me shiver to think of them! Don't worry.....he has already had his share of big pigs, some people have no scruples I guess! One chick kept lizards and it was tough to tell who was who!  Couldn't resist that one Pete! Hey, maybe you will find some slithering "hottie" down in the caves!

To find her mmmmm..... [Sorry. This word is emphatically not part of Dr. Poontang's vocabulary]

She had one of them thar gold ring thangs on her finger. Sheesh.

Please click here to see a photo of Dr. Poontang humping one of his pigs.

Happens every time. Too much sex and not enough fishing makes you see double.
