Hey Guys

I have a Lund Pro-V with a panel that runs my bilge, livewell, nav lights and interior lights. Was fishing last Saturday and all was working well...came back Monday and nothing on the panel would work. Changed the main fuse, nothing. Took the panels off and tested that I was getting power to everywhere, all looks good.

Anyone have any ideas as to what might be my problem?

Thanks in advance!

did you check with a test light at the fuse panel or just a visual look at the fuses? you need to have pwr on both sides of the fuses and you also need to have pwr feeding the fuse panel itself you can also check grnds with a light as well just put your clamp on your positive wire to check your grnds not shure what else to offer with out really looking at it :)

a guy in camp testing everything but the ground. I am not great at this kind of thing. Do you do this for a living buckflash?

Grateful,

If you have power to your main fuse panel, and power from each fuse to each device, I would suspect you have lost the main return or negative back to your battery. That is, if none of the devices work. Look for a broken conductor either at your battery or where it ties into your fuse panel. You can lose this return just from a bad connection. If your boat is a few years old, remove an clean connections at battery using fine grit sand paper. You can clean fuse panel connects (stab type) usually by just pulling them apart, then pushing them together again. Male stab can be sand papered while the female connector can be pinch slightly with pliers to make a better connection.

You should disconnect and clean all connections at your batteries at least once per year. Make sure you label your conductors before you disconnect them, so you know where they all go.

I also have a Lund, and when you put the main power on, it powers up navigation lights, livewell pumps, bilge pump, CD player, horn, console lights, livewell lights, and cell phone plug. I really suspect a return problem in your case.

Try this (only if you are sure of what you are doing): Take a separate conductor (insulated wire, say a #14) and tie it from the negative of your battery to the negative post of your main power panel. If you don't know where this negative post is on either end, don't do it. Get someone that knows electricity.

Send me a PM if you are close to Kingston, maybe I can help.

Good Luck,
Blair Taylor

While at the Bay a couple of weeks ago, I lost all power, turned out to be a wire came loose from one of the connectors on the negative ground on the battery, I also have a Lund Pro V, they loosen up with time, moisture, corrosion etc. I think you have a negative ground problem.
