Quinte Fishing

Hi Guys, we've been fisging BOQ for the last 4 years, it always seem to be a hit /miss in terms of the best time to go. This year we are thinking about fishing early november 4,5,6. Is that to late? I realize water temp and all is important, but do any of you have a sort of safe bet time period.

I figure with a couple 10+ lb fish last weekend fish can be caught anytime starting now, I guess, but I think for numbers it is late October/early Nov, for size I think it is more late Nov-early Dec, not that you can't catch big fish now or even numbers in Dec. I think the best time to be there is when the wind is less than 30km/h! I figure anytime between now and Christmas is a good bet. I am hoping to make it out there next weekend for an early trip to see if I can land some

It is simple, the later you can troll without ice becoming a problem is the best. My last trip last year was December 6th

Well said landshark. Maverick and I were out on dec 16th last year. The best day last year that I heard of was dec 8th. I'm goin till I can't anymore lol

I am with u big mac,i went out a few years ago on January 13 the fishing was great. 2 guys in the boat and we got are limit in 30 min all fish were between 1 and 6 lbs no monsters but it was fun. when we left it was -13 and the water was freezing,the next day we could not get back out.so i hope i can do it again soon,its more fun in the boat than on the ice but i dont stop fishing!

best time to fish hands down,this is some SECRET info here im willing to share.......
best time is when the line is spooled,hooks are sharp
...never catch a fish if your line aint in the water

ill be going out tonight for some walleye from the shore(hopefully) around dusk for a bit...hechimer,south side bay bridge,off zwicks in the mouth of the moira...anyware i can cast my line

Looking back through my fishing logs and speaking from experience my best days for numbers 20+ fish days have come the last couple of weeks of October and a few days into November. Fish (walleye) are cold blooded so as the water temperature drops the less they feed and the more they slow down, which also includes their metabolism. Now with all that said, the larger fish have come in November and December, but you are looking at fewer bites with a small spike in the action a few days before ice-up.

Right around Halloween is my personal favourite time on the Bay of Quinte

I should also mention....you need to give yourself more than one day on the water to figure out the bite and location of active fish. If you only have one day...it will be a hit and miss for sure.
