I was reading my Ontario out of doors magazine and was looking at the fish activity calendar. I was wondering if anyone has used this as a guide and if it actually does help to show when the bite is on.

I think there is some worth to it, but when it comes to fishing nothing is carved in stone lol ... i also like to pay attention to the pressure seems when its rising fast or falling fast its a good time to be fishing, but really is there a bad time to be fishing? just some days you catch more than on other days but if your not out there all your going to hear is man the fish were really on YESTERDAY lol I guess if i was planning a fishing trip I would definatly look at that calander and if at all possible id fish in one of them windows marked good or best for sure!

It holds no worth to me, My fishing calender is anytime I dont have to work. I have paid attention to the calender in the past just to see if it held some truth. To me , It did not. I prefer a stable barometer. I think it can be a fun tool for folks to look at it but DON'T not go fishing because the calender says the fishing wont be good. If you are interested here is a good read http://www.weather.com/activities/recre ... ticle.html

They base it on the full moon and new moon phases being the most active periods for fish and game with the days before and after being better and the days inbetween not as much.
I have noticed a difference with deer around the moons, but not as much as with fish. I agree with the weather being more of a factor.

I'm with the rest of the guys. While I don't totally discredit them I don't pay much attention to them either.
The way I look at it if I have time to get out I'm going.
The fish are always biting somewhere, you just have to find them.
