I stayed at a small back lake north of Kingston this weekend but mostly fished from the dock. No gas motors allowed and with a lot of pops so stayed on site
I did get out in the boat (an 8' punt) for about a half hour and caught this on my first cast. It was a light boat and it pulled my wife and I around for bit before I could finally grab it gently under the gill plate, so not to harm it.
When I let it go at the dock, it tail walked along the shore line 5 times and went a good 20+ feet down the bank. It finally stopped when it hit the neighbours dock and rested for a long time but was able to take off after sitting a while.
I've never seen anything like that...it thought it was a Marlin.
Cheers,
Paul
