Hi everyone,

New to the board but have been reading your many posts over the last few weeks.

I'm planning an ice fishing trip to BOQ the first weekend in Feb and wondering where my best bet would be. We're 4-6 guys going out... I'm the only fisherman and thought it would be a good place to go.

Don't really know the area so trying to figure out what and where would be best for both numbers and size. I do tend to send them back down the whole if any one is wondering...

Thanks in advance for any help any can give...

I'm currently looking at 2 places.

Bay side in Trenton and the other place is Fosters Fishing in Picton - it's called the telegraph narrows...

I'm open to other suggestions as well.

Thanks again.

Carl

Not sure of your first choice but I wouldn,t recomend Fosters, he will nickle and dime you for everything. You may want to wait a bit and see where the bite is on that weekend then deside on a resort or hotel. Also are you on foot or do you have machines? If you have machines and the ice is good and safe you can do alot more exploreing, if not there are alot of good drive and walk out areas to fish but its to early to speculate where the bite may be on that weekend, it can change from day to day as these fish do travel. Hope that helps! Good Luck

Carl,

Save yourself a hassle :? and stay away from Fosters. I'm not sure what Kevin at Merland Park does for ice fishing, but I would call him first. :D

Carl,

I would stay away from telegraph narrows. In the winter there is still a good current there and the ice does not thicken up enough. Better to go where there is a guarantee of thicker ice. People have gone through at telegraph narrows.

We booked at the motel in Deseronto on Feb 7 - 8th since we heard the fishing has been great in that area.

Hope the ice keeps up but so far it is really cold up there.

The area ard. Telegraph Narrows can be a place to catch some nice fish....but is always a hazard. The Beleville area and in some areas ard. Deseronto have much better ice. Watch where the people...or better yet a few avid locals go to get into some of the finer fishing.

Regarding accomodations, shacks, etc. Check around. There should be many good deals with a few guides that are very, very accomodating to the fishing comunity.

Please be careful when releasing, handlimg all your fish!
