When you're trollin' around in the 20's, 30's, +, do you ever latch into any bass ? Schools? Size?

I've been reading a lot of your posts throughout the past few years.....but i don't think i have ever read about someone latching into a 4/5lbs smallie/largemouth......so i am curious.....?

I also have caught 4/5# smallies trolling deep diving cranks behind in-line boards. When they hit, they turn the board into a submarine - it totally disappears under the water. Lots of fun bringing them in.

I ask because, I am often in <15’ fishing structure, but I am curious to know if BOQ may have two strains of bass - structure/weedline and pelagic. Do you guys out in 30-50’ ever run into schools of pelagic bass.

No need to know where, when or how.

Thanks!

Nomadic would be the same. He is refering to bass that roam chasing baitfish all the time. Bass that wouldn`t always relate to cover or structure.
I believe there are bass in the bay that do this, both small and large mouth.

Matt,
I think you are on to something. I wonder the same for largemouth. I have had days where I hit good numbers and sizes of largemouth on cranks, they were no where near any type of structure and then never hit them again in that spot. I've come to the conclusion it's schools of bass just roaming open water(pelagic)
