Trolling for Eyes. First time in area.

Hi Guys,
Also new to the site. Coming out to Picton Bay next week. First time. Perfect Vue... No boards but I have a few dipsy divers. Plan on trolling or possibly jigging if need be. Any pointers, tips, lures, suggestions?

My first tip is try to get some boards, If need be I can let you borrow a pair. Are you fishing alone? If the winds allow you try east of the ferry, work the north shore near the light house. I like my speed between 1.6-2.1 As far as lures stop by pro-tackle and pick yourself up a few reef runner 800's, im sure he will help you with colors. Tell me about your dipsy set ups? braid , wire? what size dipsys? Tell me how many guys are fishing with ya and I will help you out with a program

Hey Landshark,
Thanks for your generous offer and the help but before I get into the boards I'm now going to try & educate myself on how to use them properly first.(No idea) As for the the dipsys I have a few different sizes and plan on taking a run out to my local tackle shop before heading out next week. No Wire. 2 guys, 17ft. Starcraft. So please just fire away and I will try to grab a few things before I head out. Especially those reef runner 800's. Thanks again.

you dont need boards, some people are stuck on them and think it works far better then the old school, lol, but the old school way
of just trolling crank baits still works, i like rapala's and walleye divers, a large white spinner bait seems to work well too, i often add worm to spinner baits, just be sure to let lots of line out, jigging works well with live bait too, i have been doing really well the last 3 days or so, many fish every day. boards do work, but not required, i never did well with them, but i think i just dont run them right.
just my two sense.
shhhhh, dont tell any one, but mepp's spinners still work too, just slow down your trolling speed, to just fast enough to feel them spinning, again you need to let out a fair bit of line, and adding bait helps.

boards help because then you will be able to run four lines, they also are away from the boat to prevent spooking fish. If you want a pair of boards to use and a quick board lesson let me know

if your at perfect vue stop by shermins point and jig with 3/8 heads and twister tails different colours,white work for me latley.work weed edges and thompsons point across the bay work it the same way,dont be afraid to jig aggresive this time a year,watch for hits on the drop.

listen to landsharks set up he is setting you up to cover alot of water with 4 rods spread,good set up and effective.

Yes, get a couple of in-lines, and some reef Runner 800s or Tail Dancers.

Dipseys will work for sure but the boards give you a better spread for the Bay.
