Quinte Fishing

Hi all, new to the site.
This will be our 3rd year up to Picton. We usually end up fishing east of the Ferry between Keith's Shoal and Bat Cave. I sometimes read guys on the site talking about how the big ones haven't moved into the Picton Bay area yet. My question is this, why does everyone wait? Can you get to them sooner if you were to go to Prinyer's cove??? This is something that me and my 2 fishing buddies have talked about trying the previous 2 years that we were up. I'm thinking of trying it when we come up on the 5th, 6th and 7th. (assuming wind is ok) Anything that I should know about that idea. ie is it a good one or a bad one LOL. Thanks in advance for a tip or two. We will post the results of our trip when we get back.

I know for a fact lots of fish were caught last week East of Pryiners.

Hey Water..

Great question.. The answer is; a lot of us fish Prinyers Cove. I have been trolling out there since early September. Rather than waiting for them to come in, you can spend the entire summer chasing them around the big lake! Which is what a few guys on here do. Your best bet is to read the forum regularly and the reports will give you a good indication where to fish... Good luck!

Thanks for the reply guys. i will keep my eyes on the site and see what things look like by the time we are coming up.

Beleive it or not, one of the guys coming with me is begging me to give up some walleye time to go find him some pike. If anyone has some tips on where to find some pike and what to catch them on, it would be much appreciated as i don't want to spend anymore time away from walley fishing than i have to. 2years ago we trolled with boards really tight along thompson's point with Rapalas looking for 'eyes. We hit 2 nice pike there that took the boards for a ride. I'm thinking that was just a fluke??? Besides it is usually too busy with boats there to troll along that shore. Thanks again.
