Quinte Fishing

Hello,

Bass season starts next week and I was wondering what has been the biggest bass to come out of the bay ever?

And how big have people been catching them in the last couple of years?

I have caught mostly largemouth in the bay, is there a good population of smallies?

I heard with the on set of the zebra mussels clearing up the water clarity the bass fishing is getting better is this true?

I don't know for sure but it seems to me there was a report on this board a few years back about a 8lber caught in Hay BAy. My personal best on the bay is 5 1/2 lbs(largemouth) Have also snapped one off that looked bigger. I will be out thisweekend and hope to better my record (grin).

Was that 8 pounder released?

I think it was Superdad who reported the bass. I can't remember if it was released. I hope so, Fish like that are few and far between.

I heard of an 7 pounder caught during prefish for the Chevy Mercury Classic last Sept. I have yet to see a picture, but they are out there. Ask Dan Elliot, you know when he is on big fish. He usally looks like this after a day of pre fishing LOL. Good luck this weekend to Bucktail and all the other QFS contenders.
