Hello everyone, new to the site, which I have seen to be very informative.

I intend travelling down to the Long Reach area of the Bay tomorrow... Friday and so not to find that I was wasting my time when I get there (travelling from Ottawa), was wondering if someone could tell me if there is decent ice in the Huff area?

Was going to wait until Monday, but with the warm front heading in thought I would get down before it arrives.

Thanks for any info.

There are lots of guys fishing the Huffs rd area , but a word to the wise , keep your eyes on your fries ,the ice will erode very quickly with the warm temps , check with your spud ALL the way out and be very , very carefull :)

Rob.. there is never decent ice at Huff's. The long reach area is never 100% consistent ice. You can be fishing on 5" of ice in one spot and 20' from there could be 2" of ice. Never take anyone's word even if they tell you there is 3 feet of ice. Check for your self and use your own judgment. As for ice....it will be there and yes there will be people fishing...but you will need to make the call on if its safe or not.

Good luck and stay safe.
