If you are buying this for use in your boat, by the time you buy a pocket pc and the gps unit, you might better invest in a chart plotter that will accept naviation chart chips. I bought this one last year and I have been very satisfied with it.

Had trouble signing in, used wrong nick, forgot what i used to sign up with. If you have any questions regarding gps units, let me know. I am a surveyor by trade and have had experience with them in different situations.

Hi There,
Does blue charts support editing on the pc? With the navman product I can view the complete map on my pc and add waypoints, tracks routes etc.

Here's the outfit I am thinking of. So far it's the most cost effective way to get a chart plotter ( These are canadian prices)

Well, I think that you can load them in PC but I am not 100 percent sure. But, for the kind of money you are spending, it does not look to me like you are getting a package comparable to some of the already available Chartplotters like the various Garmin and Lowerance models.

Not sure where you are located, but if you visit a West Marine store in your area, we have one here in Northern New York, you can see hands on some of these models.

Well, that's the difference LOL!
I am in canada and for a decent chartplotter I am looking at 2000 + the cost of charts + 15% taxes LOL!
