That would be one heck of a run to Picton, if these guys are fishing, perhaps off the Melville Shoal or the Snake Islands.

As of today, there is a lot of big ice chunks floating around Kingston near Confed Basin.

I haven't seen much either around Dupont area, Colins Bay etc but just thought an alert to be careful as floaters are around, would be in order.

I didn't see the ice chunks floating around by Confed this morning on my way to work...but hitting any I saw yesterday would be disasterous!

good luck FB.

cheers

We fished in from Finkles to the ice -caught 5 and missed 4. A good last day of the year!
Finkles was in great shape to launch. A little water drippings and weeds only.

Going along bath rd everyday this is what I can tell you

Collins bay is frozen until you get the the inside tip of lamoines pt; everything from there over is open on bath rd no idea what ice conditions are like but haven seen anyone out there was tempted to check it out

Parrots bay has also got some ice it seems to fluctuate alot and is usually only on the other side of the bridge- lots of broken ice coming out of the creeks and bays

lots of broken ice near the amherst island ferry but the launches around there should all be useable

Bath was open water a week ago and its warmed up

this whole side seems to be the last to freeze and never freezes very well; every year well be on a foot of ice in hay bay and bath rd is completely open

I bet its pretty open around the glenora ferry still too

hope this helps
