Has anyone ever been warned or fined for fishing from shore at the Ontario Power Generating plant , Highway 33 near Bath? There are signs down there about no trespassing . The signs are close to the fence where the warm water gets discharged out into Lake Ontario. Has anyone ever spoken to Ontario Power Generation staff about fishing down there and their policy if fisherman are down there? If someone is fishing down there , does Ontario Power call the OPP and lay trespassing charges or are the signs down there basically for people's safety to alert them about the dangers to fishing in this location?

Good Question. Looks like there is a discussion about this area going on
already on this page. You might want to check it out. It's about, oh...
4 lines down.

It *appears* that the signs are on the fence(s) which *to me* indicate that there is to be no trespassing *beyond those fences*. Which makes sense for safety reasons. I haven't seen any to indicate that the rest of the shoreline is off limits though I could be wrong. Anyone willing to make a phone call? :)

I have fished that location for years and have never
been asked to leave. I believe the signs are up for
safety reasons.

Meet the wrong warden or OPP and it will cost you $74.00; trespassing to fish. Three charges laid in the St. catharines area this passed weekend.
