From what you read on this web page you would think people were not catching fish. This is no the case.If you drive around you find people are catching fish but not saying much about it.I have personally seen many fine catches of walleye, pike and perch.the real fisherman must spend their time fishing rather than bragging..

The people that come here and post are by far a small percentage of the number of people that fish the bay. The number of people that come here and read without posting is slightly higher than the number that post, but it's still only a small percentage of the number of people fishing. I'm almost certain that 90% of the people that fish the bay have no idea about this site. I'm also certain that guys that are doing really good don't want to come here, post a report and then see a dozen new guys fishing the hot spot the next day. The one thing to remember is that a lot of guys spend a lot of time and money trying to figure out how to get fish on the ice. They have a hard time just handing info out to strangers. This page is a great tool for sharing info. Just think about how quickly the whole Manns stretch frenzy happened last year. Everyone and their brother wanted stretch 20's. What's is gonna be this fall? Anyone see those new magnum size Storm thundersticks? I think they're gonna be awesome come November. Hey, that's a long time away. Guess I'd just better stock up before they're all gone.

Newt & Tadpole, thanks for the report, as I am coming up from Rochester NY area next week, I was almost thinking I was making a mistake in planning a trip to BOQ. The reports of fish have been pretty spotty. It's good to know that there are fish being caught. As far as jumping on someone's favourite spot is just not my style. If I know of a general area fish are located I'll take out the maps and find my own spots....that's part of the fun of going to new places. Also if I hear of what lures are working I'll still experiment with the rest of the tackle box. Thats why I love this sport, the possibilities are limitless.

Hey, that's quite a drive, coming from New york. I can see why you visit the site. Obviously, if you're gonna drive that far, you're hoping to get into one of those fish that have made Quinte famous. It's very difficult for someone to reply to one guys question privately when email adress isn't left. I'm sure that if you were to leave your email adress, you might get a response or two. That's all it usually takes, one finger pointing you in the right direction, and if you have a clue what you're doing, you'll catch some fish. Good luck, they're out there, under the ice, go find'em!!

Unfortunately, many people don't see/feel the effect on the local economy via tourism dollars such as yours and mine iceguy.

Hope you have a great trip...Post a report and let us know how you did :!: ...

My buddies and i fished BOQ two weekends ago we iced 48 walleys ranging in size from 5" to 13lb.we were checked by a conservation officer whom had checked over 100 people on saturday and he reported we were the only guys catching any.WE caught fish every spot we tried mainly in the deseronto area.the key is to use an aggressive snap jigging technique. Most of are fish came on pimmples tipped with 3 minnows.

Fished the trenton area tuesday nite thru friday am. Skunked tuesday nite on the west side of the lighthouse. Got fish the rest of the week on the east side of the light mostly under the slot males but one was 7.5lbs, over the slot. Caught one female 8.0 lbs friday am. Most fish came on gold or copper castmasters or mister champs tipped with minnows. We had hoped to do better, damm high pressure, I'm sure slowed things a bit. We still had a great trip. Thanks to those on this site who are willing to pass-on a little useful info
