Open Water?

Is there any Ice left in the North Channel, around Bath and The Ferry at Amherst Island?

Just wondering when a boat can get out on the 'soft' water.

Was downtown Kingston this morning and a large area from the Lasalle Causeway and beyond the breakwall extending to the Marine Museum....shouldn't be long now!

Also would be interested in open water reports in the 1000 Island region (Ivy Lea and Cornwall areas)

Took a drive out Highway 33 last Tuesday and the channel is iced up from Collins Bay all the way to the L&A Generating station.

We saw the ice breaking up at the Upper Gap out on the edge of the lake.

It will have to warm up a bit more and get some wind to get it started breaking up.

Mid April for sure.

The plunge back into these sub-zero temps sure don't help.

Think I'll head over to Doffers this morning and do some daydreaming.
