Quinte Fishing

I was wondering If anyone has ever icefished in that area between the campground and corby's dam since it does hold the odd eye ? It's also the area where the ice is the thickest around the bends

i dont know man...river ice can be very unpredictable...for god sakes be carefull

I have lived in that area for 12+ years and I have never seen a person on the ice there. After talking to old timers in the area they scared me enough to stay off the river ice. Old man river is not going to fool me. Too unpredictable even with 20fow.

I defiantly appreciate the caution aspect for sure as I've grew up fishing that stretch of river for over 25yrs now. Was just curious if anyone else has had any luck there in winter. It's the only part that freezes well. I should state for safety sake I would never want to encourage anyone to fish there unless you knew it well. The question was for anyone that has. If a mod feels the thread should be pulled so it doesn't encourage someone to try there, I completely understand. 
