A few months ago, an interesting conversation began regarding Gobies eating zebra mussles, and how that ultimately lead to high levels of toxins in Lake Erie smallmouth bass. A friend of mine recently kept some Lake Simcoe perch while ice fishing and found their bellies to be "full" of zebra mussles. Ha s anyone experienced this with BOQ perch (or other species)?

Havn't kept any perch for quite some time, but I can say that I heard that contrary to popular belief, gobies don't eat zebra mussles. Now, I'm kicking myself because I can't remember the source, but I do remember it being a very viable one.

There is a study on the MNR site titled "diet of the round goby in the Bay of Quinte". It might answer your question.
