Hi,

Just want to know how thick is the ice and should I park in the Farm($5) in Big Bay?
can someone tell me how far from the Farm to the ice access area and how long I should walk to the walleye ground? I can walk quite a distance but this time my old man come with me, so we cannot walk too far this time. Also what depth I should fish for.

Thanks in advance!

ok Crappie, yes park at the farm lot, there is alot of slushy snow out there, tough walk probably 1500yds at least or more 18-20fow,ice is good i hear,8-12in. but as always be careful, the last time i was there was 2 weeks ago,5eyes,some good jumbos and a pike, but took me an hour to walk back in,was alone hauling a portable, lots of snow and drifts, this thaw should have taken some snow off though, hopefully anyways, well good luck, take a look at the board might be more on here about recent big bay activities,Ed-good fishin

Hi chasineyes/everywher,

Thanks for your information, I don't think we can walk that far. we are planning to have a short walk as long as we can wet the line we will be happy, especially the old man. we will drag a lot of stuffs so we don't think we have the energy.
Is there a boat ramp there beside the Farm?
Also, is Big Bay stand for Big Island too?

Thanks again and welcome for any inputs!
Crappie

big island is on the south side of the bay,big bay encompasses shore to shore, same place just south side,my old man was out y-day very slushy ,atv with chains were struggling with single riders he said!!!so you might want to go to huffs rd,or george st in dessie, as always watch the ice,but way shorter walks for sure!!!Ed-good fishin
