Quinte Fishing

as you can look back on another post you will see a few of us went out and tried to break a trail out onto the ice. Gotta say boys it was pretty ruff going and the hardest part was just as expected. GETTING ONTO THE ICE!! ...... very slushy close to shore but we managed to get a bike thru and tried shoveling off the snow hoping it will then freeze over making it much easier in the morning!!
WHat he neeed now is a cold night and a good freeze the first hundred yards is passable.......... another big issue is once thru the shush you then have drifts of snow to deal with. some places there is but a few inches of snow and other places its drifted up over a foot and a half this makes it tought for the ATVs as you ride up on the snow and sit there with all tires spinning. we didnt bother working the snow as it was drifting back in as fast as the atv went out and back so it became pointless . please please give us a good south west wind all night and we should be fine lol

Sleds are definatly an advantage right now I do think with some bikes running a trail could be made but bring a small shovle if your going to bring a bike this is only an issue once and if you hit a drift!!

In the morning we will do what we can do. yes we would all love to make a good run to what might be considered better fishing but at this point we will have to see with limited time limited machines limited man power we may have to get where we can set up hope for the best but above all JUST HAVE FUN!! with this many good guys on the ice a fish is only a small part of what we are doing we have all had a somewhat tough season with many hard days of fishing and tomarrow might just be one more of thouse days ..... Good Luck guys im looking forword to meeting you all in the morning........... some plan to get there early but we all do not have to be there at 6 am sharp would be nice to start fishing 7;30 at the latest
For the 20 guys fishing the circle would be nice to have you there early so you can have your gear down on the ice in hopes a sled or two will be able to haul your gear some can start walking and others who cant will have to get a ride out with each sled trip. im sure it will work out but it might be a little less than trouble free .... hey no pain no gain right?? lol once again guys good luck to all and let the games begin.. just readin and thinkin.....thinkin about walkin through crazy deep snow,crappy freezing slush and haulin my 60lb sled hut topped with all my gear,on foot...just to get a stupid fish through a frozen bay.....
