My personal preference would be towards long stickbaits, in bright colours.

I'm planning on using Smithwick Deep Diving Rogues, happened to work last year. If that doesn't produce - I'll use some of the other fall big lures.

A month to go - Yippee

Artie,

I agree with superdad,We usually fish wth the suspending deep diving rogues in either the clown or silver colours.I'm also going to give the Mann's stretch 20+ a try this year :P .Hope you plan on using Planer boards as this has made a big difference for us the past few years.

Like Ron said. Planer boards work. Either the inline or the duals with the mast.

In terms of lures Smithwick Roguers and Rapala Husky Jerks, are the norm. Basically you want a long stick bait. Both deep diving and shallow diving work but I like to use snap weights to control the depth.

Pay attention to the Depth finder and note where the fish are suspending (assuming you are trolling open water).

Cheers,

Mike

Bomber long A's are my best year after year. Black and Silver. Back in Hay bay on the shallows are where I can usually get at least a 7 lb. Hit the shallows with a white Mister Twister and worm to get some table fare if you just want to ahve a shore lunch. Good luck
