I would personally like to thank all who attended. What a great group of men gathered out there for a good cause. Thanks to the food and tent masters. I got skunked for the first time this season, it honestly didnt matter at all. I would have rather had company like I had yesterday and not catch a fish than catch 10 by myself. These are the things we remember. There was some awesome ball bustin, laughing, joking. We have 11+ months to plan next years outing. Thanks again fellas, It was my honor to be on the ice with such a great group of anglers and men.

Boy am I glad I made the drive out! What an adventure. Left ole hammertown just before 3am, arriving around 6:15....to a parking lot full of guys ready to rock. Truth be told, i've never really been to an ice fishing event, so seeing all the sleds and quads was a real treat. In fact, when Trannyman took me out, it was my first time ever on a sled....what a rush!

The day turned out to be perfect weather wise. You cannot ask for a better day in February! The temps and conditions where much nicer than any day I had on my December trip.

Although not many fish were caught - (i have an ice fishing hex, I don't get to see fish come through the ice...ever!), I got to see many flasher's in action, all run by some of Quinte's best....

Seeing the sunrise on my favourite bass waters, except covered in ice was kinda strange. Thankfully there were a few guys willing to talk greenbacks with me!

The main reason I decided to go was simply to meet many of the guys i've only talked to on this board, or at best, waved to while on the water. Much like I expected, the group was a great solid bunch of guys (and gal).

From an outsiders point of view, I thought it was absolutely hillarious when 20 minutes before start time, we had 20 of quinte's finest ice anglers standing around in a circle going "alright, who brought the auger, does anyone have an auger?" Needless to say, there wasn't one. That had me dying in the inside.

For a slow day's fishing, everyone was in the best spirits throughout the day. The food was fantastic. Even the walk back to shore was nice as the winds had died completely. Watching assmonkey's face when hodg was giving him the updates from the other group nailing the fish at huff's was priceless!

I'm glad everyone got home safe. I decided to motel it in belleville...with that flash snow storm, I'm glad I did....

Thanks again for the great hospitality everyone, I had a blast!

What a fantastic day! I was impressed as I wasn't expecting much knowing it was being run by a couple of yanks!! :) Great to meet you Shark and Grizz. Thanks for the hand pulling my motel Steve, Shark and Al to get out there. I would have been sitting in my truck watching if it wasn't for you guys!

Great food...thanks to everyone involved. I love the group picture, that one will go on the phone with the rest of the fishing pics!!

Gene thanks for the ride at the end of the day...I almost yelled for the tow rope half way up the hill!!!

This is really a fantastic community and I hope to meet many more people from here in the future.

The First Battle on the Bay was an outstanding success!!! And I was so happy not to have had to clean fish at the end of the day!! That would have been toooo much work after all the fun on the ice!! Great to meet all you guys, some of whose names I still remember. It was hard because everybody there had two names......I remember "BigGene" is really Gene. :D What a treat to put faces to names on the forum.

Thanks guys for a bundle of laughs with great fishers, (that's gender-neutral since we had a GIRL fishing with us, and she came in second!!!). I think more fish just would have come between friends and created un-necessary tension. It was OK seeing Hodgey in first place because everyone likes to see an underdog win.

Excellent fish chowder, game sausage with buns, and pulled pork with all the trimmings, WOW!!! That was fantastic.

My son and I stayed to fish in the same spot until dark and they were on fire the same as during the day. Coulda done without that raging blizzard though. Sunday at Huffs we managed one 3 pounder and one of those pesky whities we were marking all day. Just got home a few minutes ago and had to check online. Can't wait 'till next year.

Sounds like you guys had a great time but I can't believe that you forgot augers!! :D LMAO If you're looking to expand the participants next year, I love to join you! I tend to not catch a lot of fish whenever I come up there but always fish hard and it's really more about supporting a great cause & being in good company. Great job to Grizz, Landshark and everyone else invovled in making it such a successful day.

I'd like to thank Grizzly and Landshark for the invite to a great event!! I didn't get around to meeting everyone but the guy's I did meet were great!

Congrats to Hodgey on the win. Man it was funny watching him run back to his ice hut after he landed that monster. :)

Looking forward to seeing you all on the ice.
