Was fishing Bayside on saturday when I hooked into a big walleye, lost her right at the hole but got a good look at her, put a minnow back on drop my line an bang its on again for a minute then gone.Bring my line back up my minnow is still there so back down she goes, didnt even get to bottom and I,ve got it back on again right to the hole and its off. The guys in the next hut said they could hear me swearing. Not to be outdone I put another minnow on and back down it goes and its back, only this time I'm making sure she,s got it and I set the hook. I'm talking to it this time all the way up saying your not getting off this time *poof* gone. I dont friggin believe it,well down it goes with another fresh minnow and no sooner does it hit bottom and she's on again but this time I;m gonna wait till she craps the hook out before I set it. This was all in the span of less than 10 minutes so did I have the same fish on or loose 4 big ones in that time frame?

That's hard to say and you will never know. Fish will definitely really hit but was it all the same fish? That kinda mystery is what makes fishing fshing

That on again, off again, can get pretty frustrating. after the second one, I would have done a quick hook sharpening and got it back down there. Then I would have gave em one of my , over the head, n on your a@# hook sets.    just to make sure he wasn't getting away.

ive always felt that if the fish feels the bite of the hook its over but they run in schools so where there is one there is usually always more my guess is you were sitting in a good spot that day lol

I love when they hit it when its going down, that's when they're hungry. I believe they hit like that when there is competition around. Nothing better than losing them and they hit four feet under the hole.

I had the same experience a couple of years ago. I was letting line down when something big hammered it, didn't get the chance to set the hook well and it got off but didn't get my minnows, so back down my lure went and Bam on the way down he hit again and again didn't set the hook well enough again, and again he got off, but again didn't get my minnows, so back down it went and sure enough he hit it again, but this time I made sure to set the hook and finally got him! It is now on my wall it ended up being a 15.5lb male walleye! :)

I've had one hang on to the tails of my minnows, right to the hole and let go,drop the lure back down one jig and bang got him.I have found using the smallest minnows in my bucket sure helps getting them closer to the STEEL

I had a hawg hit 6 times .. like I fought it each it about 10 ft.. on the 4 hit it snapped my line, I grabbed the line at the hole and pulled the lure up since she let go again and quickly switched it to my other rod n then hooked onto her another 2 times .. never got to see her face but I know it was the same fish 6 times cuz I use my Lowrance x67c fishfinder sonar not a vex fl-54385655 or a hummingbird ice-84968654 etc

Chris aka spox was my witness :)

I dunno about walleye, but bass will hit multiple times. I was bass fishing once and hooked a monster until "snap" the line broke. Rigged up again and hooked a fish and "snap" my hastily tied knot let lose. Put on another and hooked the bass with both my hooks in it's mouth acting as if nothing had happened. 6lbs 5 oz.

That led me to believe fish have little sense of feeling around the mouth.

About 2 weeks ago I had a fish on lost it a few feet from the hole and sent jig back down and it hit again. I watched the fish slowly drop back to bottom and then re attack my jig n rap. It was 13.2 I have seen this a few times but then at other times u can't even get them to hit once lol. I think it just depends on their mood. I tell u one thing if I bit into cheeseburger and it yanks me away from the table I'd be a lip shy of cheeseburgs for a while lol.
