Hey guys, had the opportunity to fish Huffs tonight with Quinte Prince and Spox. Ice conditions were actually not really all that bad. Still around 12" in the areas we fished (50/50) black and white ice. Walking was a breeze as there is no snow and very little water in some areas. Cleats will be a must after tonight.
Fishing was OK... nothing to get real excited about but non the less there were fish. We managed 7 in total with a 7-8lber being the largest... and yes.... SPOX finally caught a fish and it just happened to be the largest....lol. Good Job Buddy...Marked lots of fish but they didn't decide to have a snack till almost dark.
Current was wild and the 3/4oz lures got the dust blown off tonight.
Please everyone be aware that not all areas will have safe ice. Take the time and check it for your self. I am just posting on what I seen on the path that we walked out on.
Good luck to everyone and stay safe.
Jason
