My father-inlaw and I decided to give the mouth of the Napanee river a go. We started out with harnesses and bottom bouncers tipped with berkely gulp. (I figured the gulp would keep the perch and gobies at bay but still be tempting enough for the eyes). I had a few good wacks and had one fish on for a few moments but it got off before I got a look at it. We picked up and moved up into the river and switched to jiggin. We caught one eye at 18" and Leon lost one about 8-9 lbs. The drum were very busy as we caught one after another with the biggest about 6lbs. I didn't count how many drum we caught but I would say about 20 or so. Pulled out just after lunch. Not sure what the temp was but cold for sure. What happened to spring? The forecast this week looks like it will warm things up alot.

Hi Superdad

I am heading to Desoronto in a couple of weeks and want to pick some up. Can you point me in the right direction?

Also, are you flatlining them, or running them on boards? Do you tip them with anything? Do they work after dark?

Sorry for the 100 questions.

Take care.

I was out as well on saturday with my son and we caught a couple pike Largest being around 8 lbs. and one walleye 7.4 lbs on a spinner. the pike we caught were on the husky jerks. went to the mouth of the Napanee as well in the morning and my son(whos only 9)caught a bass by mistake on a jig and grub in 12ft on water. Will definitely be down to fish hard on the long weekend.
Good luck to all in the mean time

Glad you did well Dan. You gotta like those sheepshead-they fight so well. I would say they fight better than most smallmouth...Larry
